MARANATHA
COMMUNITY GROUPS
ACTS 2:42-47
42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

WHAT ARE OUR GROUPS LIKE?
The ultimate goal of groups is to pursue the presence of God and to be formed into the likeness of Christ with people.
Even though our groups are led by different individuals with unique giftings, they will all have the same “feel” to them. We long to live out the four values of Maranatha.
INTIMATE PURSUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT — HEARING GOD’S VOICE
We want to encounter God’s presence both corporately on Sundays AND throughout the week in Community Groups. We also want to empower and equip people to hear God’s voice for themselves and others and to be a community that has faith for the miraculous (Acts 2:43).
BIBLICAL LITERACY — SCRIPTURE READING AND DISCUSSION
Community Groups will be places where we read, meditate on, and study the scriptures together (Acts 2:42). We want to grow in our understanding of the Bible and challenge each other to apply its teachings.
AUTHENTIC COMMUNITY — KNOWING PEOPLE AND BEING KNOWN
We want to be a community that does genuine life with each other. That means praying with and over one another, meeting practical needs (Acts 2:44-45), and walking through everyday life. We want to show up for people within our Community Groups and Maranatha as a whole.
MINISTERS OF RECONCILIATION — LIVING WITH AN “OUTWARD” PERSPECTIVE
In our Community Groups, you’ll be encouraged to "bring the Gospel” into your specific context. We will pray with you and for the people in your life to come to know the Good News of Jesus.
